The Arabian Sea wash the golden sands of the Mararikulam beach that rise to emerald canopied coconut palms along the edges of the La Plage Resort. Nearby lies the modest fishing village after which the beach bears its name.
The Marari beach was rated as one of the worlds top five Hammock Beach by National Geographic survey. Its sunsets are spectacular.
Courteous to mindful service and finger-licking Malayali cuisine, the La Plage is an ideal holiday destination for family and friends and for refreshing incentive packages.
The sea-facing air-conditioned Villas feature King and Queen Size beds, en-suite facilities and a private sit-out. The rooms are spacious and tastefully furnished. Wi-Fi is free. Room amenities include facilities for making tea and coffee, multichannel TV, a mini bar and a hair dryer together with the expected toiletries. Beach beds can be placed for you on the beach. An iron and ironing board are available on request.
October through March are the cooler months to visit Marari. April and May are warm in the afternoon and pleasant in the mornings and evenings. The rains between June and September make swimming in the sea unsuitable, though you can still splash in the water along the shore.
One can watch the fishermen bring in the day’s catch, relax beneath coconut palms (watch out for falling coconuts) or on the beach, go for walks and explore the nearby villages. The resort can arrange a boat ride on the Kerala backwaters, and excursions to Thumpolly Beach with its bird life, the Kartyayani Devi Temple, the St. Thomas Pilgrim Centre set up in memory of the apostle Thomas, St. Augustine’s Church, the grand Mararikulam Shiva Temple, and the Pavumpayil Sreekrishna Swamy Temple.
The nearest national and international airport in Kochi. The nearest railway station is Alleppey. Alleppey is well connected by bus services from across Kerala.
